Bangkok to Surat Thani Airport
Once you arrive at Bangkok the cheapest way to fly is from Don Muang Airport to Surat Thani Airport. There are a couple of budget airlines operating from here making your journey that much quicker than by bus. Both Air Asia and Nok Air offer the lowest flight deals to Surat Thani Airport. This airport is very small with basic facilities so it’s not an airport you want to be waiting around too long. It then takes around 5 hours to get to Koh Phangan from Surat Thani Airport if you include the bus trip to the port and the ferry crossing.
Bangkok to Koh Samui Airport
If you are wanting a shorter journey then we recommend flying from Bangkok to Koh Samui. Koh Samui Airport is owned and managed by Bangkok Airways. This airport is small but is classified as an International Boutique Airport. Bangkok Airways offers several flights from Bangkok with flights taking about one hour. Koh Samui is also connected by direct flights from Phuket, Pattaya, Krabi, Chiang Mai, Singapore, Hong Kong and Kuala Lumpur. Thai Airways also offers twice daily flights from Bangkok.
