Snorkel Trips: You can also take the decision to simply book an organised snorkelling trip.  Most of the tour groups use big boats, all offering plenty of space to sunbath or chill out in the shade. Normally included is use of the snorkelling equipment and a light lunch with refreshments.

A highly recommended tour is to Angthong National Marine Park.  Another place to enjoy snorkelling tour is Sail Rock. This scuba diving site is also great for snorkelling and offers the chance to see whale sharks.

Taking a long tail boat is another option for Koh Phangan snorkelling and these can be hired anywhere from the islands many beaches. A full day tour will cost around 2,500 THB. You can then choose where to go and how long to stay so it’s a great option for families or groups.

Snorkel Equipment: If you don’t have your own equipment for Koh Phangan snorkelling, then you can rent it for the day from many of the dive shops and resorts close to the beaches.

For novice snorkelers we recommend that you don’t wear fins as you could easily end up kicking and damaging the live corals. All you really require is a quality mask and snorkel to enjoy the amazing under water world.

Some people prefer to buy their own mask and snorkel, if this is you then always buy from a scuba diving shop. The reason for this is that they only sell quality equipment that will last years.
